EU-GDPR – Sustainable Compliance and Control
In May 2018, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) will become legally binding. It will entail additional obligations for all companies and authorities of the EU member states when dealing with personal data. Stricter security requirements as well as the transparent and risk-conscious processing of personal data will be the result.
Act to Strengthen the Security of Federal Information Technology
Serious attacks on critical infrastructure operators (KRITIS) must be reported immediately to the Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI). This is stipulated by the Act to Strengthen the Security of Federal Information Technology, which came into effect in the summer of 2015. German hospitals, banking houses and energy suppliers will have to comprehensively protect their computer systems against digital attacks and demonstrably improve the security of their systems within two years.
